BACKGROUND

The Annual Queensland Sport Awards have been running since 1995, and serve to celebrate the achievements of athletes, coaches, officials, administrators and organisations on an annual basis.

Members are invited to nominate individuals, teams, and organisations within the award categories - after which an independent selection panel will determine the finalists and winners of each award.

NOMINATIONS

Conditions of entry for all award categories.

Nominations should be a QSport member organisation, such as; State Sporting Organisation  or Associate Member of QSport.

Nominations for 2023 have closed. 

The Award Nomination Categories Are As Follows:

  • The Courier Mail Channel Seven Sport Star of the Year
  • The Courier Mail Channel Seven Junior Sport Star of the Year
  • Queensland Government Athlete with a Disability of the Year
  • Queensland Government Service to Sport Award
  • Gallagher Sport Administrator of the Year
  • Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre Sport Event of the Year
  • Konica Minolta Sport Officiator of the Year
  • Sport Coach of the Year
  • Rebel Junior Sport Team of the Year
  • Sport Team of the Year
  • QUT Sport Innovation of the Year
  • Brisbane City Council Volunteer of the Year

JUDGING

The Queensland Sport Awards Selection Panel is appointed by the QSport Board.

The selection panels will short list nominees to a group of finalists and choose a winner in each category. The decisions of the Awards Selection Panels are final.

WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT AND PRESENTATION

QSport will inform all finalists within each category and the list of finalists will be publicly available via the QSport website and social media platforms. The Queensland Sport Awards will be presented annually at the Queensland Sport Awards and Hall of Fame Presentation each year.
